PERSONALITY .

Dusktooth is sarcastic by nature, the kind of person who speaks with a bit of a viper's tongue. At times he can come off as over-dramatic when he's trying to make a point or mess with someone. It's because of this dramatism and sarcasm that the things he says can come off as mean or inconsiderate to the feelings of the people around him. He lacks a filter when speaking, often saying what he feels with no heed for whether or not it's ill-timed or badly put. Dusktooth doesn't believe in limiting his jokes which has often made him unlikeable for those on the receiving end. He's written off as "rude" or "mean" frequently because of this.

Dusktooth is very emotionally unintelligent, he's not quite good at understanding other people. While he's extremely competent with herbs, he's not so competent as a friend or someone to look to for guidance. This said, he is good at listening, it's just very unlikely that he'll have any comments on the matter or helpful advice to extend. He's also unlikely to leave someone he loves hanging, he's the kind of person that can be called on in times of duress.

He's very kind, someone who's friendly, at least on a surface level. Dusktooth is charismatic, easy to get along with when he's feeling charitable and he likes to keep things light-hearted. This fondness for jokes and jovial outlooks can be a bit trying on the nerves for people who he deems to be "too serious". He's playful and finds it hard to take things seriously, even when the situation is very serious.

However, Dusktooth is extremely intelligent, he finds it easy to work through most technical problems and doesn't have any issue thinking outside the box. His intelligence can sometimes seem like deviousness, he believes that all routes justify all ends and tends to do what's necessary, no matter the cost.

At times he can come off as introverted, although this is usually when he's allocated all his focus towards a single problem or project. Dusktooth is the kind of cat who becomes consumed by tasks and it can be almost impossible to snap him out of it. He's quick to irritate when he feels that he can't get things done or he struggles to finish something important to him.

At times it seems he's prone to guilt, especially guilt that circles around things he's done or failed to accomplish. He tends to apologize readily and often when he feels he's hurt someone. He's also very reckless, someone who rushes into things with no regard for himself. This recklessness borders on nihilism and a feeling that his death will mean very little, he tends to press his luck a little too much when situations get dicey. He can sometimes be brave as well, although you'd be unlikely to think this because he doesn't seem to want to be seen as brave.

HISTORY .

Duskkit was born to Barkclan, the descendent of a cat known to Barkclan as Nightfeather, an oracle who had been quite infamous for his tendency to predict the deaths of the cats around him. Nightfeather almost never had good news, his life was plagued in visions of doom. It got so bad that cats even started to avoid him for fear that he may bring those visions on them.

Nightfeather died alone but his memory was carried on in his descendants, none of which ever showed his peculiarities towards prophetic visions. That was until Duskkit came along. Duskkit was much like any other kitten, though they had a penchant for headaches that would come seemingly at random whenever someone died.

They did not exactly share their ancestor's visions but they did seem sensitive to death.

Despite this, he grew up without much of a hitch. He eventually went on to train as a warrior, falling easily into the role he was assigned. Duskpaw was a surprisingly competent prospect and was eventually be given the name Dusktooth. Dusktooth found quickly that despite his near-constant migraines, he was a good warrior. However-- the pressure of dealing with the constant knowledge of others dying in a battle started to wear on him. It wore onto him to a point that he eventually wanted to avoid battles as a whole.

For some time, he downright refused to accompany patrols and would go so far as disappearing from camp as an act of avoidance. After some thought and a brief conversation with his mother, he asked to train under the oracles and fell into that somewhat easier. Though the headaches never exactly went away, he finds it easier to complete his tasks as the new head oracle around them, considering the threat of a worse headache to be good motivation to make sure nobody dies under his watch.
