CYCLE I

LEAFBARE – MOON 1:

  • The former MarrowClan rogue Marbledsun approached a BarkClan patrol, prophesying an upcoming death at the next gathering.

  • Genetstar of MarrowClan is struck by lightning while beginning his speech at the gathering, and does not revive. His final words are “Vanus is…”

  • Greytide is given his lives to become leader of MarrowClan. Astron turns away from him instead of giving him the final ninth life. Harriereye is named deputy.

  • StarClan does not answer the questions the oracles have after Genetstar’s death, but does inform them that Genetstar was not given a place in StarClan.

  • A new plane of the afterlife is revealed to Hawkgaze, an oracle of BarkClan, by a denizen of the plane named Celestialscar. He claims to her that this plane is known as the Bright Grove, and it is a place separate from StarClan and the Dark Forest. He claims Genetstar is there.

  • StarClan warns the Bright Grove is dangerous, but is cagey about explaining further.

LEAFBARE – MOON 2:

  • In response to MarrowClan’s weak leadership and instability, Laurelstar is pressured by their deputy, Cypressthorn, to make an attempt for the Star’s Fall. MarrowClan successfully defends its territory. Laurelstar loses their first life in the process.

LEAFBARE – MOON 3:

  • StarClan reveals a new prophecy to the oracles: “Beware, cowardly fangs will rip into roots, and rend any peace to shreds”. The vision shows a cat, seemingly from MarrowClan, murdering a BarkClan cat to spark war.

  • At the gathering, the Clans begin to suspect and accuse each other of being the one to instigate the prophecy.

NEWLEAF – MOON 1:

  • At the southern border soon after fighting for Star’s Fall, an argument breaks out between MarrowClan and BarkClan patrols. This leads to a skirmish, where Greystar loses his first life.

NEWLEAF – MOON 3:

  • MarrowClan’s head oracle, Newlight, attempts to cleanse the cursed territory of the Faering by burning it. This seemingly releases a dark spirit that begins to haunt further parts of the territory.

GREENLEAF – MOON 2:

  • During the half-moon, the oracles are shown a vision of a blood moon and shadowy beast wearing a wolf skull snapping up the stars in its jaws, before it is dragged out by Astron’s paws.

LEAFFALL – MOON 1:

  • A large-scale avalanche hits BarkClan, covering the camp in rubble and killing many cats. Laurelstar loses two more lives; during which, they are told by a StarClan cat that Astron is no longer looking over the Clans to protect them from disasters like this.

  • BarkClan relocates its camp further into their mountainside, despite the danger.

LEAFFALL – MOON 3:

  • BarkClan is able to return to their camp, though it takes the rest of the moon to clear out the remaining rubble.

CYCLE II

LEAFBARE – MOON 1:

  • The avalanche from the previous moons and widespread flooding beginning throughout the territories still has prey running low. A skirmish breaks out between MarrowClan and BarkClan over alleged hunting over the border.

LEAFBARE – MOON 2:

  • An argument between the Clans breaks out during the gathering over the recent skirmish. However, it is cut short by a meteor shower.

NEWLEAF – MOON 1:

  • The oracles visit the Mooncave, only to find it too flooded to commune with StarClan. Marbledsun appears to them, warning them this is only the beginning, and that StarClan has fully turned its back on the Clans.

  • Unbeknownst to most of the Clans, the Dark Forest begins training cats to battle against StarClan. Most trainers lie to their trainees about the true nature of their intentions, and that they are of the Dark Forest.

GREENLEAF – MOON 2:

  • The oracles’ vision has them meeting the shadowy figure Astron once fought, nicknamed by them as “The Star-eater”, within the Bright Grove. It appears to be injured and vulnerable, and once up close, the oracles realize this is what Vanus truly looks like. Newlight tries to kill Vanus in his weakness, but is stopped by Hawkgaze. The two argue with one another after waking up, leading to a fight between the oracles.

  • Hawkgaze steps down as an oracle and renounces her faith in StarClan.

LEAFFALL – MOON 2:

  • Another meteor shower occurs. This time, a meteor hits Greystar and takes one of his lives.

  • Marbledsun catches Shadedbough of MarrowClan killing his sibling and deputy, Harriereye, during the night. They promise to not tell MarrowClan’s leadership only if Shadedbough agrees to do him a favor. Shadedbough reluctantly agrees.

LEAFFALL – MOON 3:

  • Due to Harriereye’s mysterious disappearance, Campionblaze is named deputy of MarrowClan.

CYCLE III

LEAFBARE – MOON 1:

  • A vision is shown to the oracles from the Bright Grove. Fire and floods rage around them, with two shadowy cats circling, telling them: “The earth, sky, and sea shall rupture with power when those in the dark show their might”.

NEWLEAF – MOON 3:

  • The Clans see Astron and Vanus fighting one another in the sky. As Vanus pins Astron, a large-scale earthquake occurs, causing wide-spread destruction across the territory. The Sun’s Wrath becomes an active volcano once again. This creates new territory such as the Jagged Tusks and the Wound of the World, and changes other parts of the territory, such as the woodland ravine and the Petrified Forest. Astron and Vanus cease fighting in a stalemate for the time being.

GREENLEAF – MOON 1:

  • StarClan remains silent on what happened the moon before, but reiterates a previous prophecy: “Cowardly fangs will rip into roots and rend any peace to shreds”.

  • The training within the Dark Forest begins to intensify; they expect a battle with StarClan soon. Some cats within the Dark Forest begin to reach out to specific living cats, asking if they would be willing to help them kill Astron.

GREENLEAF – MOON 2:

  • Vanus appears to the oracles during the half-moon meeting, revealing that his true name is Wolfstar. He explains he was one of the original founders of the Clans, but was punished when he disagreed with Astron, and only became a god-like figure through the belief from the Clans.

  • He further reveals the Bright Grove is truly another plane of the afterlife – it is indeed the Dark Forest, a misnomer. The Bright Grove is what the residents call it, due to its brightness drowning out the stars above.

  • Wolfstar warns the oracles of an upcoming battle between StarClan and the Dark Forest, and urges them to prepare in case the living get involved.

  • The oracles confide this information in their leaders, but not the rest of the Clans, to avoid potential panic over a lie.

LEAFFALL – MOON 1:

  • A vision is sent out to the oracles at the half-moon and all cats born under the blood moon, detailing the hidden ninth zodiac: Wolf.

  • Panic begins to spread across the Clans, with cats divided on still supporting StarClan, or turning their back on them. Greystar places his faith still in StarClan, while Laurelstar does not.

LEAFFALL – MOON 2:

  • Marbledsun appears to Laurelstar and Cypressthorn. They claim to have predicted a MarrowClan cat will kill a BarkClan cat, and use it as a pretense to invade BarkClan. Laurelstar does not believe him, but Cypressthorn does, reasoning his other predictions came true.

CYCLE IV

LEAFBARE – MOON 1:

  • The Dark Forest warriors gathered a group of cats to perform an ancient ritual to split apart and effectively kill Astron, having convinced Wolfstar to assist. This group is unknown to all but those involved.

LEAFBARE – MOON 3:

  • On the day before the gathering, Marbledsun uses his leverage over Shadedbough to force the MarrowClan cat to help him frame Greystar for murder. They lure out and kill Dandeliontuft, and place Greystar’s fur at the scene where she was found.

  • Marbledsun presents this evidence to BarkClan the next morning, and points Laurelstar’s failure to act on his predictions as the reason Dandeliontuft is dead. Cypressthorn agrees, and Laurelstar reluctantly agrees with her that this is a declaration of war by MarrowClan.

NEWLEAF – MOON 1:

  • The ritual to kill Astron is successful. Astron is split apart, and the sky shatters in the wake. They are often now called “They Who Are No More” by the living Clan cats, rather than their title.

  • Wolfstar gave up his godly power to give the ritual power, and in the aftermath is weak. He is then betrayed by his fellow Dark Forest cats, who attempt to take over StarClan in the chaos of Astron’s death.

  • BarkClan and MarrowClan were already beginning to war over Dandeliontuft’s death at the Star’s Fall when the sky shattered. Astron’s death causes the veil between the living and dead to weaken, and StarClan and Dark Forest cats alike fight alongside the Clans. The leaders of the Clans also lose their nine lives, given to them by StarClan. Greystar is killed by his own warrior, Grizzlyroar, when he tries to flee the battle. Laurelstar is killed in a fight with their previous leader – the cat leading the charge for StarClan – Plumstar. Lunae and Solis end the battle with a loud roar, appearing in the sky, which scares off the remaining Dark Forest cats. The spirit that was haunting MarrowClan’s territory similarly retreats to the Dark Forest. This event came to be known as “The Battle of the Stars”.

NEWLEAF – MOON 2:

  • In the wake of Astron’s death, Solis and Lunae both apologize to the oracles for letting Astron become a tyrant with their power. They vow to rule over StarClan more fairly. They also use the remaining power from Astron to make new pantheon members, to carry out duties they can no longer perform as well with their new duties: Orionis and Leporis, to manage the flora and fauna; Delphine and Lyrus, to manage the light and shadows; and Auri and Ceti, to manage the land and sea.

  • As Solis and Lunae bestow divine power to the new pantheon members, the spirit released from the Faering manages to steal some, creating the pantheon members of Vis and Hyd, who manage strife and famine. They rule over the Dark Forest as leader and oracle, respectively.

  • Campionblaze is made leader of MarrowClan. He announces his deputy as Pheasantplume.

  • Cypressthorn steps down as deputy of BarkClan. The council of senior warriors discusses who to make the next leader. Many cats refuse to step up to be leader, considering the uncertainty and chaos after Astron’s death. Tidebreaker is chosen as the next leader of BarkClan. She names Lightningtongue as her deputy.

NEWLEAF – MOON 3:

  • A small skirmish breaks out between the Clans at the gathering, over accusing one another of aiding the Dark Forest. The gathering is ended early.

  • The oracles of the Clans convene to discuss the changes to the pantheon, and the majority come to the decision that the new pantheon members are divine forces of nature – not gods, but daemons. They decide they are not to be worshiped as Solis and Lunae are.

  • Some cats begin to disagree with the conclusions of the oracles. Most notably, a MarrowClan cat named Seraphimflame begins to leave out small shrines and offerings for these daemons throughout MarrowClan’s territory. Some cats within MarrowClan begin to follow his example.

GREENLEAF – MOON 1:

  • The oracles receive a new prophecy: “To ascend to an altar of stars, a zenith must rise from the ashes of war”. The vision consists of cats venturing into a sea of stars.

LEAFFALL – MOON 2:

  • More cats begin to take heed of Seraphimflame’s worship of the daemons, including cats in BarkClan, who spot the shrines from over the border. Small shrines begin to appear in BarkClan’s territory as well.

CYCLE V

LEAFBARE – MOON 1:

  • Seraphimflame begins to gather cats of both Clans on the northern border to discuss the worship of the daemons.

  • A skirmish breaks out at the southern border over a rabbit killed over BarkClan’s territory line. MarrowClan’s deputy, Pheasantplume, is killed.

  • Hollownight is named deputy of MarrowClan.

NEWLEAF – MOON 2:

  • The Clans begin to tolerate fringe religious practices like Seraphimflame’s less and less, leading to social outcasting.

GREENLEAF – MOON 1:

  • Seraphimflame begins to discuss the rising religious tensions in the Clans with the group he gathered. He promises to care for them, should the Clans turn on them.

  • A BarkClan warrior is killed at the southern border, but no cats in MarrowClan will confess. Tidestar demands Campionstar give BarkClan the Star’s Fall over the death, which Campionstar refuses.

LEAFFALL – MOON 1:

  • A battle over the Star’s Fall breaks out between MarrowClan and BarkClan. MarrowClan successfully defends its territory.

LEAFFALL – MOON 2:

  • Seraphimflame is cast out of MarrowClan for arguing that Vis and Hyd are worthy of respect and worship. Dedicated cats follow him to live in a loose group of loners near the ocean.

LEAFFALL – MOON 3:

  • Seraphimflame argues the prophecy given to the oracles by StarClan was meant to tell them to establish a new Clan. He establishes the new Clan, calling it “ZenithClan”.

  • Seraphimflame is chosen to be the first leader of ZenithClan. He names Elysiumtrance as his first deputy.

  • Seraphimflame is given his nine lives by StarClan, officially becoming leader of ZenithClan.
